Bluewater Wind Farm
The Bluewater wind farm proposal is very optimistic. The article stated that the wind farm would be able to power an estimated 1.5 million homes. The article did not address how the proposed offshore wind turbines would affect shipping and boat traffic in Delaware Bay. What migratory birds may be susceptible to being injured or killed by these turbines? How many birds are killed on average by other turbines? Because wind is unreliable and varies in intensity, how can the residents using this wind power be assured that they will always have available electricity. Because wind turbines cannot generate much power, would one nuclear power plant be more beneficial than hundreds of wind turbines?
